Isabel "Izzy" Medlin, 88, of Myrtle Beach, SC died March 8, 2015 in Myrtle Beach.

Born October 29,1926 in North Carolina, she went to work to help her family after her father's death while still in high school, sewing seams in women's hosiery. She married her husband, Howard Medlin, in 1946. She was a devoted wife, life partner, mother and grandmother. She was an active member at The King St Baptist Church in Cocoa, Florida before moving to South Carolina in 2013 to be with her surviving daughter, Jane. She and her husband were...

Isabel "Izzy" Medlin, 88, of Myrtle Beach, SC died March 8, 2015 in Myrtle Beach.

Born October 29,1926 in North Carolina, she went to work to help her family after her father's death while still in high school, sewing seams in women's hosiery. She married her husband, Howard Medlin, in 1946. She was a devoted wife, life partner, mother and grandmother. She was an active member at The King St Baptist Church in Cocoa, Florida before moving to South Carolina in 2013 to be with her surviving daughter, Jane. She and her husband were both from North Carolina and moved to Florida in 1957.

She is survived by her daughter; Jane Medlin Fortune (Chip) of Myrtle Beach, SC., brother; Bill Hutchens, granddaughters; Amy Fortune Gurd (Jason) of Greenville, NC., and Jesssica Fortune Johnson (Jesse) of Myrtle Beach, SC., grandsons; Rodney Medlin (Susie) of Clermont, FL., and Ryan Medlin (Karlin) of Houston, TX. She also leaves 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son; Ronald Wallace Medlin and a daughter; Sheila Medlin English. Her beloved husband of 68 years, Howard Medlin passed away on March 21, 2015.

A visitation for Mr. and Mrs. Medlin will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 6-8PM at The Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 US HWY 1, Rockledge, FL 32955. A service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11AM at The King St Baptist Church in Cocoa, FL followed by a reception at the church. A graveside service will be at 2:30PM in Florida Memorial Gardens.
